🚨 College Football or Christian Nationalist Rally?
Across the country, we’re seeing college athletics — including football — being used as a stage for Christian nationalism. This isn’t about faith. It’s about a political movement that hijacks evangelical doctrine to push exclusionary, authoritarian ideas into public life.
When public universities allow that ideology to seep into their programs, they cross the line. Public institutions must:
• Stay neutral on matters of religion.
• Protect students of all beliefs (or no belief).
• Keep athletics focused on education, teamwork, and community — not sectarian politics.
Christian nationalism is not Christianity. It is a political project — and increasingly, it looks and acts like authoritarianism dressed in religious clothing.
At the Secular Education Association, we support public schools and universities — but we will call out Christian nationalist influence every time it threatens students, fairness, or the law.

- Facebook User: So while I believe it is fine for students to have like minded groups, I don’t understand the need to spread a religion across the university. There are people of all faiths, no faiths and they are as entitled to their beliefs as is he. I would not appreciate someone attempting to push Jesus or any religious figure on me. Religion should be between you and your god unless you have a whole different agenda.
