“Nothing says ‘freedom’ like a captive audience of public-school children. 🇺🇸🫡
Released Time Religious Instruction (RTRI) was meant as a narrow accommodation — off-campus, privately run, parent-consented religious classes that schools neither promote nor facilitate.
Some long-standing Jewish, Catholic, or Latter-day Saint programs still follow that rule of law carefully: meeting during lunch or recess, handling all logistics privately, and keeping schools neutral.
What we’re seeing now is something very different. 👀
Modern RTRI outfits like LifeWise Academy use public schools as recruitment grounds—pulling kids from core classes, involving school staff, and turning public resources into ministry pipelines.
That’s not religious “freedom.”
That’s religious privilege.
We’re not anti-religion—we’re pro-instruction and pro-neutrality. If families want religious education, that’s their right. But public schools must not promote it, host it, or sacrifice class time for it.
