🚨 Indiana – Tippecanoe Valley LifeWise
LifeWise Academy is taking 4th–5th graders off campus during the school day to a church, where children begin each session by reciting the Christian Flag Pledge. 👀
That alone is troubling for a program that claims to be “non-sectarian” and “just character education.”
But what stands out even more is this:
🔍 LifeWise posted one pledge… but their classroom photo shows a different one.
🟥 What LifeWise publicly claimed in their comment:
“One Savior… with life and liberty to all who believe.”
This is the modern evangelical version that restricts “liberty” to believers only.
🟦 What’s actually written on the whiteboard in their LifeWise classroom:
“I pledge allegiance to the
Christian Flag and to our
Savior for Whose Kingdom
it stands. One brotherhood,
uniting all Christians in
service and in love.”
This version excludes everyone who isn’t Christian.
Two different pledges.
Two different messages.
Likely that neither one was disclosed to families…..
⸻
📌 Why it matters
The Christian Flag Pledge has multiple versions:
• 1908 original: “uniting all mankind”
• Hybrid: “uniting all Christians”
• Fundamentalist rewrite: “life and liberty to all who believe”
Each rewrite narrows the circle of who “belongs.”
LifeWise switched between versions without telling parents which one their children would be reciting.
That is not transparency.
And it is not neutral “character education.”

🧭 If Your District Has LifeWise, Ask:
• Which pledge is used?
• Is it written down anywhere for parents?
• Which one is posted?
• Are kids being told “liberty” belongs only to believers?
• What are the children they being led to recite?

👏🏻Public schools are not pulpits- transparency is not optional.
