🚨 WASHINGTON: LifeWise is threatening Everett — and trying to rewrite the rules for every district.

LifeWise Academy, backed by First Liberty and a big out-of-state law firm, has sent a 5-page threat letter to the Everett Public School Board.

In that letter, they claim:

Everett Public Schools.WA is showing “animus toward religion”

Board members are “targeting” LifeWise because of its religious views

Basic safeguards (weekly consent forms, sealed handouts, clear sign-out rules) are “burdensome”

The Board has until December 5, 2025 to promise all this, or LifeWise will “pursue all available legal remedies”

Let’s be honest about what this really is:

👉 A private religious program is demanding special treatment that other families and groups do not get.

👉 They want Everett to weaken child-safety and transparency rules that apply to everyone else.

👉 They’re trying to use the First Amendment as a weapon to force a public school district to back down.

This isn’t just about one elementary school in Everett.

If LifeWise can bully Everett into changing its policies, every district in Washington is next.

We’re so grateful to Respect Public Schools – Washington for obtaining and publishing the full threat letter so the public can see exactly what’s being demanded.

📣 CALL TO ACTION — WASHINGTON RESIDENTS:

The Everett School Board needs to hear from parents, educators, and community members across the state who care about:

Child safety

Neutral, secular public schools

Open, lawful public process (not rushed policy changes under legal threat)

✉️ Email public comment to the Board:

schoolboard@everettsd.org

You can also find board contact info at: everettsd.org/schoolboard

⭐️When you email the Everett School Board, please CC contact@respectpublicschools-wa.org.

They are independently tracking the volume of community concerns so districts can’t claim “only a few people reached out.” This helps establish a clear record of how many Washington residents are speaking up.

💬 A few lines you can copy/paste to get you started –

“Please do not weaken child-safety rules for any outside program.”

“Public schools must remain neutral — not pressured into special treatment by threats.”

“Please follow the full public process before making any policy changes.”

“Everett’s decision will affect families across Washington. Please stand firm.”

You can absolutely keep it short, respectful, and straight to the point – JUST SEND THE EMAIL!

This is the moment for Washington to act. Everett’s response will shape what happens statewide. WA LAW DOES NOT MANDATE RTRI. Districts are fully within their rights to decline LifeWise or any RTRI program. Other districts in states like Kentucky have refused to bend — and Washington can too.
