👀 THIS IS A VERY FAMILIAR “NONPROFIT” PLAYBOOK.

While reviewing Van Wert County real estate transfer notices, we uncovered a transaction that deserves public attention.

Two parcels were transferred from Cross Over the Hill — the local released-time Christian program that later became the first flagship site of LifeWise Academy.

That transition happened in March 2020.
Cross Over the Hill stopped operating years ago.
Its tax filings ended after 2020.

Yet the property transfers didn’t occur until December 15–19, 2025 — more than five years later.

And the property was not transferred to the nonprofit.

It was transferred to LifeWise Holdings LLC.

📄 A for-profit Ohio LLC
📅 Formed September 29, 2025 — just three months earlier
⚖️ Registered agent: James Kresge, longtime LifeWise attorney

This sequence is not accidental. It follows a well-documented nonprofit asset-management strategy:

• legacy assets remain parked in a dormant nonprofit
• a separate for-profit holding company is created
• real estate is moved out of the nonprofit structure
• public-facing operations continue under a mission-driven nonprofit brand

📌 This is how deliberately opaque nonprofits operate. Transparent ones don’t hide asset strategy behind delayed transfers and private holding companies.

When an organization operates during the public school day, relies on donations and volunteer labor, and presents itself as a community-based nonprofit, moving legacy assets into a private holding company is a material shift — one that demands public scrutiny.

What people are saying:

  • Secular Education Association: Secular Education Association
  • Facebook User: Our Rep Noureen Haus, Cloverleaf District Medina County Ohio, posted on the Parents of Elementarty Children’s Page Tuesday Jan 6, the first day back for the kids. Her post said that it was not to late to sign up kids for the LifeWise program. In the comment section I asked if she could update us on the 7 year old from Indiana that was left behind, along with if she new about this transfer. I also asked if she could explain to us the new policy changes making our school more “accountable” She did not answer and took her post down on the same day.
  • Facebook User: This life wise program is forcing Christianity on children some of us don’t believe in Christianity and therefore our kids shouldn’t be forced into it either
    • Facebook User: Facebook User these are the ones fighting against it.
  • Facebook User: Keep up the good work on bringing this into light. Thank you for your service!
  • Facebook User: Meanwhile local chapters are funding themselves and asking for donations. I wonder how much more needs to be proven to local directors that they’re just running a pyramid scheme to line the pockets of those on top.
  • Facebook User: You’re doing such good work bringing them into the light. They’re kicking and screaming they are victims while stealthily hoarding ever more assets.
  • Zachary Parrish: It makes sense they want to start hiding money, with over $35,000,000 in revenue for 2024 I can only imagine what the tax filings for 2025 will show.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User with all that revenue I have to wonder why my local one had to put up a fundraiser for a bus battery and are asking for other donations.
  • Facebook User: Lifewise Brainwashing Salons are just money laundering for the Evangelistaliban.
  • Facebook User: Cult. Cult. Cult. Spreading to an elementary school near you…
  • Facebook User: How is this shared and posted to Senators Husted and Marino? They need to be educated about lying, cheating nonprofits.
  • Facebook User: Capital C-hristians are the most egregious violators of laws, most importantly IRS laws.

“Pay unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s” is what Jesus told his followers – but, like his 2nd most important Commandment to “love your neighbor”, “C”hristian’s are haters and criminals.

  • Facebook User: Yes, please continue siphoning money out of our small communities, some with record poverty rates, and funneling it to this religious hoard 🙄

I don’t appreciate the idea at all, but if people really want Release Time for Religious Indoctrination, can’t they work with local churches and run their own program?? For real, WHAT is the benefit of partnering with a national franchise that is just raking in so much money they have to hide it? Anyone who invites or encourages this program in their town is a fool. There are SO many religious education options that don’t hurt your community to line their own pockets. The greed is disgusting.

  • Facebook User: All that money, and they still push to squeeze every dollar they can out of local communities. It’s abhorent.
