Washington State is becoming an active front in the fight to keep public education religiously neutral and accountable.
LifeWise Academy is operating and expanding in Washington districts, and the stakes are no longer abstract — their presence has already resulted in litigation involving the Everett School District. This is happening in real communities, affecting real students, during the public school day.
SEA is tracking activity across Washington, including:
• District approvals and expansions of released-time religious instruction
• Transportation and supervision arrangements during the school day
• Loss of instructional time and unequal student impact
• Legal and compliance risks districts may not be fully acknowledging
If you are in Washington or nearby, we need you:
• Parents and caregivers
• Educators and school staff
• Students, advocates, and concerned community members
