In 2024, SEA uncovered publicly available information showing that Renee Beck, then the LifeWise director for Firelands, had previously been fired from an Ohio school district after allegations involving sexually explicit messages with students. Her Ohio educator license was later revoked.
LifeWise responded by saying Beck had not disclosed her employment history, that its background check would not have uncovered it, and that it terminated her after learning of the information.
âĄď¸ Now, during a routine review of publicly available LifeWise program information, SEA found Renee Beck listed with the Ohio, Lorain â Wellington Exempted Village program.
LifeWise told the public Renee Beck was terminated.
Now, Renee Beck is listed with another LifeWise program.
Parents deserve an explanation.

That there should be a red flag for every district in the state. For that matter, if a school district is stupid enough to approve LikeWise then they too should be doing a full vetting process as well. This is totally unacceptable.

I can also confirm the list we have is current and has received over 300 live updates just in the past week. The most recent update being that Renee Beck’s name has now been removed from the Wellington list, despite being there at 1 PM this afternoon.

It’s stunning to see how many are Evangelical pastors and staff. Most come from denominations that covered up their crimes, or that subscribe to the “restore and return the pastor to the pulpit” ideology. After two years of keeping track, I’m convinced the Evangelical churches are no different than the Catholic church when it comes to sa/csa. As the past few years have revealed, sa/csa is frighteningly endemic in every system.
