“I am new to this group. I have a student at Eli Pinney Elementary in Dublin, OH. The Lifewise bus picks up students here on Wednesdays, but not until later in the morning. Just now as we were in the drop off line my daughter, who is mercilessly bullied by Lifewise kids for “looking like a Lesbain who is going to burn in hell” “all trans/gay/lesbians deserve to die” “they/them like an animal” spotted 2 Lifewise staff entering the building.
She said that they come in when the kids are there, have freedom to move throughout the building and that they gather up the kids well before the scheduled time to depart. They apparently gather in the cafeteria, greatly extending the time out of class and allowing the Lifewise staff to essentially be school volunteers.
I don’t know what the rules are exactly, but I figured I’d share this information because you do. Their indoctrination is hateful and those kids are a product of it. My baby suffers daily. It’s awful.”
What people are saying:
- Facebook User: A little about me…..I am a Christian, I do not have kids in school (I do have 4 grandkids who go to a private catholic school), our school district recently voted to let lifewise into the schools. I am so sorry that parents are going through what lifewise is bringing into schools. I have been absolutely sick about this from day one. I am also furious about it. There is a college in our small town, which is considered to be a liberal school. It seems like there is a battle between liberals and evangelical Christians here. And now “they act like they’ve won. I read messages from locals on town Facebook groups who are “Christians” and there are some of the most hate-filled messages I’ve ever seen. I absolutely do not think there is a place for this group in public schools. I support parents against lifewise. l wholeheartedly am behind you in the fight to get them out. Please do report all instances of bullying or anything else you see. It seems (here at least) that teachers are afraid to speak up about their experiences with this group.
- Facebook User: Facebook User there’s a difference- LifeWay is the curriculum publisher. LifeWise Academy is the program.
- Facebook User: Facebook User I didn’t even pay attention and my phone must have changed what I typed. Thank you for pointing it out.
- Facebook User: Lifewise or not, in fact, forget Lifewise, this is bullying and sexual abuse. From experience i can tell you to go to the school and force them to document every instance of this behavior. This type of behavior was not considered actionable until the second complaint/report. If you are able, lawyer up.
- Facebook User: Please Please PLEASE share this info with your building principal! My daughter is also at a Dublin school and was made fun of because she “must have the devil on her shoulder” because she doesn’t attend Lifewise! This is not ok.
- Facebook User: Facebook Userthis is what Chriatians want. To hurt people.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Not all Christians want to hurt people… just a few bad apples! 😉
- Facebook User: Facebook User It’s…a LOT of bad apples.
- Facebook User: Dublin schools passed this nonsense with 2/5 vote in the affirmative being considered a majority. The superintendent is on record as testifying to the state house in favor of school choice and cites bringing God to schools as an incentive. There are regular white nationalist marches on Sawmill Rd. Pro-lifers picket outside of the high schools with gruesome posters. The plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan was devised in Dublin. Some of the J6 planning was done in Dublin. Teachers were reprimanded for wearing shirts to support the most vulnerable of their student population in Dublin. There is a whole Instagram page called Dear Dublin City Schools with 4K followers that has hundreds of posts by former students and faculty about how the district failed them because of their lack of action on discrimination and bullying.
There is no support to be had in DCS or the City. Dublin is a wolf in Merino sheep’s clothing.
- Facebook User: Facebook User when my daughter was in school and they implemented this program, this is exactly what I was worried about (among other issues). The othering and vilifying those that didn’t attend. Yikes.
- Facebook User: As a parent who is also a teacher, I would view this as a threat and hate speech. Threats need to be handled with the school’s discipline policy and a threat assessment should be done by admin. If it happens again, contact the kids’ parents. If it persists after that, get loud and tell other parents at the school which children are doing this to your child. You shouldn’t have to just endure it and hope they stop.
- Facebook User: I let my daughter go this year because she asked and she lasted 2 weeks before I pulled her out of lifewise. She came home from school after going to lifewise and looked at her dad and said he was going to hell because he don’t go to church. When I wrote a note to the school stating she is know longer going to lifewise, lifewise called me and asked why. When I told them what she said they just said they don’t teach them that. She had to have learned it there as we don’t talk about church and who goes to hell. And also after I pulled her I found out the only reason she wanted to go was because they were offering pokemon cards of you when, and they had class mates hand out invites to the classmates that didn’t go.
- Facebook User: I am so sorry this is happening to your daughter. I am a mama bear who fights for my child to live his best life and to always know I love him and I am so incredibly proud of him. So when these religious groups come into the public schools and preach their religious rhetoric I am appalled. Not to mention I am an educator and for children to leave during the school day to learn about God is taking away from all the material we need to teach. Local Pastors, educators, parents need to put pressure on school board members to eliminate this group from the schools. So many concerns as to who is funding this, are the workers back ground checked, what material is being covered etc etc etc!!!! So infuriating!
- Facebook User: Facebook User Probably Peter Thiel. It’s consistent with authoritarianism.
- Facebook User: Facebook User you wonder?!!
- Facebook User: Facebook User I’m also guessing Lifewise pays no taxes, great way to build an empire.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Always check who is at the top and what do they have to gain!!!!
- Facebook User: In our district we have a buzzer door and they would not be allowed past the office without a volunteer approval sheet. my kiddo loves rainbows by default and was bullied by them too. I don’t know why they can’t just meet after school? I had many groups after school and it was so much better.. i don’t want them anywhere near my kid. We are Christians also but they have their own agenda—-more likE Christian Nationalism which entails more political or taking over education/govt…rather than personal walks with faith.
- Facebook User: Rori Carissa Weil Howell You’re completely right.
- Facebook User: I am sorry this is happening to your child. Please report it. This is not ok.
- Facebook User: Since, the post/author was Anonymous, I sent through Messenger to Eli Pinney Elementary.

- Facebook User: Go to the school board. This is not okay. Dublin has a policy, but that policy can be revisited/amended to restrict things like this.https://go.boarddocs.com/oh/dublin/Board.nsf/Public?open&id=policies&fbclid=IwY2xjawIYPSRleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHbcEQYzvKSLPYzKY27AzTUAtQ-rBgG8TEjcUR5juxRW6HliMenSiJmGy3w_aem_kw7nqVIJJ__zVif8KTTlRw#
- Facebook User: Lawyer up. Although as the Republicans are in power do not expect your kid t9 be protected by the courts. I wpuld suggest suing Lifewise as well as the district.
