ALABAMA
“Collins cited opposition from education groups as part of the reason for the defeat. Education groups have cited a host of concerns, ranging from a lack of definitions of religion in the bill to liability questions to a lack of knowledge about both certifications and curricula in released time religious instruction programs.”
Let’s talk about a few important things to note-
Those 4,500 Alabama parents that *supposedly* signed a petition in support of the legislation…
Rep. Susan DuBose, R-Hoover “doesn’t appreciate” being questioned on the validity of those signatures but yet CANNOT produce them…. 👀
Lifewise Academy has a LONG history of fudging numbers, making deceptive claims, and misrepresenting themselves. INCLUDING falsifying community interest lists.
Rep. Chris Sells, R-Greenville says “We didn’t have long, you know. It was kind of dumped in our laps,” he said. “We’re not going to vote against Jesus, I promise you that. … It’s the process. It’s not what it was doing. It’s the process of doing it.”
We must remind Rep. Sells that you literally cannot “vote against Jesus”. Jesus isn’t something to be voted on. We, as Americans, reserve the right to believe in or NOT believe in whatever we choose. Our public schools are a reflection of that freedom and diversity of religious beliefs. That is OUR parental right when choosing public education.
Jesus does not belong in our public schools.
