From the article –
“In the filing, LifeWise claims that its mission statement is “to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ” and that its employees “minister to students.” However, according to its most recent IRS nonprofit filing, its stated mission is “to assist youth, youth organizations, schools and churches by providing seminars, education materials, inspirational and motivational materials, books and other programs to help youth reach their full potential.”
Instead of money, Snell said she wants LifeWise to amend its financial policies, including employee pay and how much local share chapters have to put into the organization while LifeWise tripled its profits last year.
She said she believes in the idea of religious-release education, but she wants to see LifeWise stop “victimizing people.”
“I think a lot of people are kind of blinded to some of those things, like the greed and not really caring enough to properly background check,” Snell said. “I just think that Christians, especially Christians, since this is who’s supporting them, need to kind of open their eyes to what this organization really seems to be about.””
