Did you know?

Before it became its own nonprofit, LifeWise Academy operated as a project under a group called Stand For Truth Inc. The founder and current CEO of LifeWise, Joel Penton, also founded Stand For Truth—and many of the same leaders have worked across both organizations.

Now, Stand For Truth Inc. is the subject of a state tax lien filed by the Ohio Department of Taxation, signaling a serious legal and financial issue. According to public court records, the State of Ohio has filed a Certificate of Judgment against Stand For Truth Inc. for unpaid taxes.

Why does this matter?
Because LifeWise Academy’s rapid expansion—and multimillion-dollar surplus—was built on the back of an organization now facing legal action from the state. These aren’t just growing pains. They raise red flags about financial accountability, leadership oversight, and the true origins of LifeWise’s operation.

As LifeWise seeks access to more public schools, communities deserve transparency. If they can’t manage their financial past, why should we trust them with our children’s future?
