This was actually handed out at Delphi Elementary
🚨 Carroll County, Indiana 🚨
Carroll Consolidated School Corp – this is unconstitutional.
Parents received a flyer for the “Carroll County Religious Education Program.” It says kids in grades K–5 will leave the cafeteria at lunch and head down the hall to a classroom for Bible lessons inside the public school building.
Here’s the problem: The Supreme Court has been crystal clear for 75 years.
📌 McCollum v. Board of Education (1948) — Religious instruction inside public schools is unconstitutional.
📌 Zorach v. Clauson (1952) — Released time programs are only legal off campus.
Public schools cannot hand over classrooms for Bible study during the school day. That’s government endorsement of religion and it violates the First Amendment.
👉 If this is happening in your district, know your rights. Document it. Speak up. And contact groups like FFRF for support.
Public schools are for education — not Sunday School. ✊

“My daughter gets this every year and I do not consent. She has asked me why she can’t go play games and do fun stuff in the classroom with the other kids. If Lifewise has to take kids off campus, is this illegal?”
What people are saying:
- Facebook User: They should also let the legislators of the school district know they’re violating state code.

317-232-9808 - Facebook User: Contact ACLU and Freedom From Religion Foundation. This is unacceptable !
- Secular Education Association: Facebook User yes! we ALWAYS recommend reporting violations like this one to Facebook User and provide instructions to do so to our members regularly.
- Facebook User: I would start by contacting the principal and then the school board.
- Facebook User: What can we do to help??
- Facebook User: What about the FCA using a classroom? Granted this isn’t during school hours, it’s before school.
- Facebook User: Facebook User this may be classified different because FCA is a student club and usually leans heavily on students leading it (though I’m not familiar of FCA clubs that are for students younger than high school since where I was a teacher It was only for high school students). FCA does not exist for religious instruction Primarily. Much like if you had a Bible study or a prayer group that met before school and that’s something that I did as a highschooler for many years
- Facebook User: Has anyone called the school?
