🚨 East Mills Community Schools: Questions Every Parent Should Be Asking 🚨
East Mills Elementary is now partnering to bus first- and second-graders out of class for religious instruction. Even more troubling, the principal is publicly promoting this program — raising real questions about neutrality and the role of public officials in advancing private religious agendas.
And get this: public transportation (SWITA) is being used to move students to these classes. That’s tax-funded infrastructure supporting a private religious program.
Where is the oversight? Who approved this? And what happens to the children who don’t participate — are they left behind, stigmatized, or missing valuable instructional time?
Parents absolutely have the right to raise their children in their faith. But our public schools should never function as recruiting grounds for private ministries — and public resources should never be diverted to advance religious instruction.
SEA is calling for transparency, accountability, and community oversight before programs like this can pull our youngest learners — 6- and 7-year-olds — out of classrooms.
