This page comes straight from a LifeWise Academy lesson plan for elementary students. Look closely at the last section:

👉 “Sometimes, His people, the Jews, would get upset and think they were better than the ‘sinners.’”

This is antisemitism. You could call it “soft antisemitism” — it doesn’t use slurs or call for violence, but it paints Jewish people as prideful, arrogant, and spiritually inferior. And history shows us that “soft” antisemitism paves the way for “hard” antisemitism: explicit hate, conspiracy theories, and even violence.

Here’s why that’s a serious problem:

• It singles out “the Jews” as a group defined by arrogance and judgment.
• It uses Jewish identity as a negative moral example, reinforcing centuries-old antisemitic stereotypes.
• It presents Christianity as the “correction” to Judaism — a teaching called supersessionism, which has historically fueled hostility and violence toward Jewish communities.
• And it teaches this to children as young as 8–10 years old, planting the idea that Jewish people are prideful and wrong while Christians are loving and right.

This isn’t “character education.” It’s indoctrination — teaching kids to see Judaism as the problem and Christianity as the solution.

✋ Kids deserve better. They deserve an education rooted in respect, inclusivity, and truth — not lessons that recycle centuries-old antisemitic tropes.

What people are saying:

  • Secular Education Association: Secular Education Association
  • Facebook User: Is this like a class they’re teaching in the school or what is it??
    • Secular Education Association: Facebook User No — this is not a class taught by the public school.

“Released Time Religious Instruction” (RTRI) programs like LifeWise Academy operate during the school day, but the lessons are religious classes held off-campus, usually in a nearby church or storefront.

      Here’s how it works:
      • Public school students are excused from their normal classes (math, science, art, etc.) for about an hour a week.
      • A private religious group (not the school) provides the transportation, teachers, and curriculum.
      • It is evangelical in nature — students are taught Bible lessons with the goal of recruiting children into church membership.
      • The public schools are legally required to release kids if parents sign them up, even though it disrupts learning time for all students.

This isn’t about “teaching religion in schools.” It’s about pulling kids out of their actual education so an outside religious group can proselytize.

  • Facebook User: I don’t want this in our schools.
  • Facebook User: Such bull! People, we need to fight NOT to have this happen in our schools!
  • Facebook User: Ryan sounds like my son who has AuDHD and Tourettes. Here, I fixed it:

    • Ryan has meltdowns when he’s overstimulated.
    • Ryan has impulse control issues and sometimes takes things that help him stay regulated.
    • Ryan’s internal filter doesn’t work like a neurotypical kid’s does and sometimes he blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.
    • Ryan has executive dysfunction and has a difficult time getting started on tasks.
    • Ryan doesn’t understand how people can believe something is true without evidence, and the church he attends isn’t understanding about that.

    • Secular Education Association: Facebook User YES! And we discuss this in our full breakdown of the lesson.

      “Good Kids Go to Church?”

“The harm of this framing goes even deeper. The “bad” behavior assigned to Ryan — throwing fits, ignoring rules, struggling with self-control — closely mirrors the challenges faced by many neurodivergent children. Kids with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, or emotional regulation difficulties often display behaviors like Ryan’s not because they are “bad,” but because their brains and bodies work differently. When LifeWise presents these traits as moral failings, and then pairs them with “thinking church is dumb,” it doubles the stigma. Neurodivergent children are not only labeled disruptive or lazy; they are implicitly cast as spiritually deficient. The skit encourages peers to see them not just as difficult classmates, but as “bad friends” — and even less favored by God.”

  • Facebook User: There’s also a huge issue with using this lesson to suggest that the “bad” kid is not worthy of friendship and is “lost”. It’s obvious they have no credible educators or child mental health professionals advising them on their lesson creation.
  • Facebook User: I was raised in this particular version of evangelicalism. We were taught that God turned his favor away from the Jews and to the United States. We were told it’s because Jews decided to become worldly and liberal and that the United States followed true Biblical principles. We were taught that the reason for inflation/financial troubles/etc. that the USA has experienced over the last 50 years was because of the Civil Rights and Women’s Rights movements. Basically, God favors White Christian men and when our laws stopped privileging them, God turned his favor against us and is punishing us through inflation, natural disasters, etc.

This version of “Christianity” is just the religious front for White Supremacy and literally has nothing to do with Christ.

    • Facebook User: Tiffany Landau Rowland what church did you attend? The church I grew up in since birth that my dad is a preacher we were not taught this at all. I feel sorry you had to experience that . That’s not how it should be .
    • Facebook User: Facebook User I attended a mixture of baptist churches. If you watched Shiny Happy People at all, season 1 explained the fundamental part of my upbringing and season 2 explained the evangelical part of my upbringing. I attended the Bill Gothard seminars that were covered extensively in season 1. I was at the Day One event that was covered in season 2.

I should also say that I attended private, Christian schools that used the Abeka and Bob Jones curricula. Very much a white supremacy indoctrination.

    • Facebook User: Tiffany Landau Rowland and a huge front for Greed
    • Facebook User: Bravo to you for thinking beyond your upbringing!
