Lake Local Schools got this right. Coaches can’t lead prayers with their teams. That’s not “free exercise” — it’s government officials pressuring kids.

And before anyone brings up the Kennedy v. Bremerton case: that ruling was about a coach’s private, personal prayer after games. It was not a green light for school staff to organize or lead student prayers. Courts have been crystal clear for decades — school-sponsored prayer is unconstitutional.

This isn’t about “banning religion.” Students can pray on their own anytime. It’s about making sure no child feels forced to prove their faith just to be part of the team.

👉 Public schools belong to everyone. Respect for all students means no coach-led prayer, period.

  • Facebook User: I live next to this district and people are BIG mad about it. Like it’s not been a rule for decades. People are making shirts and “lake prays” and making posts, etc. I’m glad Lake stood up and followed the damn rules 🙄
