✨ We are in awe of the courage shown by a Lake Local Schools student who spoke out at the recent board meeting. It takes tremendous bravery for a young person to stand up and share her truth in front of her community.
That shouldn’t be necessary. No student should have to carry the weight of calling out what’s wrong in their own school community. But when they do, it’s on all of us to make sure their voices aren’t ignored.
This is exactly why the Secular Education Association exists — because too many families and students feel silenced or unsafe. When people in our communities feel they cannot go directly to their schools with valid concerns, they are right to seek support elsewhere—and it shows why advocacy is so necessary.
We are here to give them a platform, to amplify their voices, and to remind every community that kids deserve to learn in schools free from religious pressure.
When students are brave enough to step up, it’s on all of us adults to really listen.
