OHIO 🚨Columbus City Schools Push Back on LifeWise 🚨
Under pressure from Ohio’s new law, Columbus had to amend its religious release policy — but they added important safeguards that every district should copy:
📌 No propaganda in schools:
“The amended CCS policy would prohibit students from distributing literature for a released time course to other students during instructional time while on school property or when engaging in such student-to-student speech causes a material and substantial interference with schoolwork or infringes on the rights of others.”
📌 No candy bribes, real meals only:
“The amendment would also require religious release providers to provide a meal that is U.S. Department of Agriculture compliant like public school lunches.”

Columbus also now requires state-level background checks for release-time volunteers and placed limits on how often kids can be pulled out of class each week.
