✨ Spotlight on Steve Ghikadis✨
At last night’s Bridging the Divide panel, we had the honor of hearing from Steve Ghikadis — Humanist Officiant, author, and community leader. Steve is also someone who lives out the values of compassion, honesty, and bridge-building every day.
His book, Humanism from the Heart: Building Bridges Beyond Belief, is a heartfelt exploration of how to create understanding across differences. Drawing from his own interfaith family life, Steve shows how compassion, respect, and curiosity can help us connect—even when our worldviews diverge.
With a foreword by Anthony Magnabosco, and praised by authors like Dale McGowan and David Fitzgerald, Humanism from the Heart invites readers to reflect on our shared humanity, celebrate diversity of belief, and seek common ground through open and respectful dialogue.
During our panel, Steve reminded us that navigating difficult topics — from Christian Nationalism to programs like LifeWise Academy — doesn’t have to mean hostility. He reminded us that change happens when we choose empathy over hostility, and curiosity over fear.
📖 We can’t recommend this book enough — both as a guide and as a companion in the work of building a kinder, more inclusive future. If you’re able, please pick up a copy and support someone who supports our mission!
🙌 Thank you, Steve, for your wisdom, humor, and for modeling the bridge-building and constructive conversations our communities need so deeply.
