🚨 This Is What Happens When the Debate Gets Personal Instead of Civil 🚨
In Salem and Richfield, Ohio; neighbors who’ve raised concerns about LifeWise Academy and who simply put up yard signs — “Revere Citizens AGAINST LifeWise Academy” and a campaign sign for Heather Smith, a school-board candidate who hosted SEA at a recent town hall — woke up to find their signs ripped up and thrown aside.
Meanwhile, in a local Facebook group, another post singled them out by name and even pictured their home, warning voters that these candidates “hate God” and should be “kept away from kids.”
This isn’t just about signs.
This is about the climate adults are modeling in front of our children.
When adults frame neighbors as enemies of God or rip up campaign signs, it teaches kids that disagreement should be met with harassment and destruction — exactly the opposite of the character lessons we want for them.
Public schools belong to everyone. We can debate programs like LifeWise without turning neighbors into targets.
✅ Respect your neighbors’ property.
✅ Keep faith out of personal attacks.
✅ Teach kids that democracy means we debate, we vote, we participate — not that we vandalize.
If you witness vandalism or harassment, document it and report it to local authorities.
And most importantly, let’s show up at the polls. The best answer to intimidation is participation.
Our kids are watching. Let’s give them an example worth following.
