This is how LifeWise kicks off the school year: cookies shaped like their red bus, with a cheerful note hoping the program will continue to be a “blessing” to the staff.
Let’s be clear: public-school teachers don’t need sweets from a private religious ministry that’s pulling kids out of class to proselytize. They need funding, respect, and the time and resources to teach all of their students — not sugary PR from a program that undermines the wall between church and state.
Hand-delivering treats to school employees while running a religious release-time program inside the public school day isn’t cute. It’s influence-seeking. And luckily that disgusting fact isn’t lost on our teachers.
Public schools aren’t the mission field — and cookies won’t change that. 🍪🚫
