This is who Micah Beckwith is.
Not subtle.
Not misquoted.
Not “taken out of context.”
A sitting Lieutenant Governor publicly used Christmas to mock pluralism, declare one religion “true,” and demean all others — while sneering at the very idea of inclusion.
That alone is disturbing.
But it becomes dangerous when you remember this is the same official who:
• inserts himself into public school religious controversies
• pressures districts to reverse constitutionally required decisions
• promotes religious instruction during the public school day
• and now proudly appears inside programs that pull children out of class for religious indoctrination
This isn’t faith.
It’s power.
It’s the belief that government exists to elevate one religion — and that everyone else should tolerate being belittled, excluded, or erased.
Public schools serve:
• Christian students
• non-Christian students
• religious students
• non-religious students
They cannot be used as a vehicle for a Lieutenant Governor’s theology — especially one who openly rejects church-state separation and treats other belief systems with contempt.
When someone who holds public office says the quiet part out loud, we should believe them.
This is what Christian nationalism looks like.
“Lieutenant Governor” Beckwith is a disgrace to the state of Indiana and to this country.
Indiana’s students deserve protection from this.
Public schools deserve protection from this.
The Constitution exists because of this.
Public office is not a pulpit.
Public schools are not mission fields.
And Christian nationalism has no place in either.
What people are saying:
