Dr. King reminded us that fairness doesn’t come from silence or convenience — it comes from doing the work to make our public institutions serve everyone equally.
Public schools are where children from every background, belief, and family come together. To honor that diversity, schools must remain religiously neutral and inclusive, ensuring that no child feels singled out, pressured, or left behind because of their beliefs.
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we recommit to protecting pluralism, civil rights, and the integrity of the secular school day — not as an abstract ideal, but as a daily responsibility.
Justice isn’t passive.
It’s intentional.
