🚨 IOWA – CALL TO ACTION 🚨

ULTRA URGENT
Oppose Senate File 510 (SF 510)

TIME MATTERS ⏰
SF 510 is moving quickly and quietly, with limited public notice by design. If you wait, the opportunity to influence this bill may pass!

Iowa lawmakers are considering SF 510, a bill that would authorize Bible-only courses in public high schools, classify them as social studies, and allow religious displays approved by individual principals β€” all during the school day.

This bill:
β€’ Elevates Christian scripture through statute
β€’ Claims biblical knowledge is a prerequisite for understanding society and public policy
β€’ Blurs the line between public education and religious instruction
β€’ Risks marginalizing nonreligious and minority-faith students
β€’ Creates legal and administrative risks for school districts

πŸ“£ Iowa parents, educators, and community members β€” your voices matter NOW.

Hopefully they won’t notice I’m in Ohio, lol.

“This type of legislation is being introduced, and challenged, all over the country. Religious proselytizing has no place in public schools. By adding bible study to what is supposed to be a social studies curriculum is an act of elevating a perilously narrow view of Christianity above all other belief, or non-belief, in a public space. What will be squeezed out will be essential knowledge, critical thinking, and the discernment of information. Iowa’s children deserve better.”

    • Facebook User: Facebook User if they even read them… But we’ve got a record of dissent nonetheless πŸ”₯
  • Facebook User: All public comments were against, but subcommittee recommended passage anyway. Secular Education Association (formerly Parents AGAINST Lifewise)
