At the Secular Education Association, we’re watching this closely because public schools are often where ideology becomes law.
We’re already seeing it play out through:
• Ten Commandments display bills in public schools
• “Charlie Kirk Act” proposals reshaping civic education
• School chaplain bills replacing trained counselors
• Mandated “Success Sequence” curricula rooted in religious ideology
• Abstinence propaganda like “Baby Olivia” entering classrooms
• And the continued expansion of Released Time Religious Instruction (RTRI)
These policies aren’t random.
They follow a pattern.
And that pattern raises a real question:
Should public schools serve all students — or advance a religious worldview?
SEA’s position is clear:
Public education MUST remain secular, inclusive, and grounded in constitutional neutrality.
Not because we oppose religion.
But because public schools belong to everyone. ❤️
