SEA is not anti-Christian.
We are anti-exclusion.
Too often, concerns about religious favoritism in public schools are dismissed as “anti-Christian.”
That is false.
SEA includes Christians, non-Christians, and nonreligious supporters who all believe public schools should serve every child fairly.
Many Christians believe deeply in loving your neighbor, caring for vulnerable children, and treating others with compassion and dignity. Those values are not in conflict with our work. They are part of why this work matters.
Public schools are for everyone.
That means Christian students, students of minority faiths, and students with no religion at all.
When school-day policies or programs make children feel singled out, pressured, excluded, or less welcome because of religion, speaking up is not anti-Christian.
It is pro-child.
It is pro-fairness.
It is pro-public education.
And it is pro-religious freedom for everyone.
Loving your neighbor should include the child who is left out, too.
