π NATIONAL GRANT WIN
SEA Selected for the Empathy Project!
We are thrilled to announce that the Secular Education Association has been officially selected as a recipient of a 2026 Empathy Project Grant!
Out of more than 600 applicants nationwide, our “Public School Belonging Day” initiative was chosen as one of only 100 projects to receive this prestigious funding. This is a major win for our mission to ensure every child is seen, respected, and included in the classroom.
The Mission: Turning Empathy into Action
SEA is dedicated to leading the charge for secular families and defending religious freedom in K-12 education. On Saturday, May 2nd, we are putting those values into practice with our flagship event in Columbus, Ohio:
π Belonging Bags: We are assembling care packages filled with comfort items and resources for students and families navigating the complexities of religious identity in public schools.
ποΈ The Belonging Wall: A community space for messages of inclusion, dignity, and secular support.
π SAVE THE DATE: May 2nd, 2026
Mark your calendars!
When: Saturday, May 2nd
Where: Columbus, Ohio (Specific location TBA very soon!)
Stay tuned for the venue announcement and the official call for volunteers as we continue to build a more inclusive future for public education.
This project is made possible by a grant from the American Humanist Association’s Empathy Project. We are so proud to partner in this national effort to build more inclusive public schools and defend religious freedom in public education.
