This is what happens when Christian nationalism stops pretending to be about “religious freedom.”
This is a direct attack on the separation of church and state.
Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission is not defending religious freedom for all. It is advancing the idea that one narrow brand of Christianity should have more power inside public life, public institutions, and public schools.
And the truth is—this didn’t start here.
Families, educators, and grassroots organizations have been documenting this for years. Long before it made headlines. Long before it was politically convenient to talk about. Long before anyone with a national platform took it seriously.
Because we were the ones watching it unfold in real time—inside school districts, inside policies, inside classrooms.
This did not come out of nowhere.
It was built. Slowly. Intentionally.
This was never just one program.
Never just one bill.
Never just one district.
It is all connected.
Public schools belong to all students.
Religious freedom requires neutral schools.
