In case you missed it …. This is what public school complicity looks like. 👀

Former Caldwell High School principal Ben Rutherford is now lobbying Ohio lawmakers to pass HB 531 — the “School Chaplain Act” — using his public school experience as the sales pitch.

And the timeline matters.

Before Caldwell, Rutherford was Headmaster at Veritas Classical Academy. During his time in public schools, he describes Bible-based programming, clergy involvement, and consultation with LifeWise Academy operating through a public school “Access Period.” Now he’s back at Veritas, which has reportedly explored charter status.

Also worth noting: Ohio Rep. Kevin Ritter, who represents the 94th District, is listed as a founding board member of Veritas Classical Academy in Marietta. 👀

That is not an accident. That is a pipeline.

Religious programming routed through public school infrastructure under the language of “character,” “support,” and “community partnership.”

And Rutherford says the quiet part out loud: the real problem, in his view, is secular public education itself.

Not understaffing.
Not lack of counselors.
Not lack of resources.

Secularism.

And the proposed solution? Clergy access inside public schools.

Ohio families should be paying attention. Because HB 531 is not just about chaplains. It is part of a broader strategy to normalize religious formation inside public education using public trust, public schedules, and public systems.

🚨This is a pattern we are seeing all over the country.

If you are aware of similar coordination, collusion, or religious programming being routed through public school systems, please reach out to SEA.

Families deserve to know what is happening inside their public schools.

Public school children are not a mission field.
They are not a market.
And public school neutrality is not optional.
