NBC4 is now reporting on concerns raised by members of the Secular Education Association about LifeWise employee vetting.
This is about child safety, public school accountability, and the danger of creating unnecessary access to children during the school day through privately run religious programs.
Public schools spend enormous time and resources vetting, supervising, and monitoring the adults who work with children.
Religious instruction can happen after school, on weekends, or at church.
There is no legitimate reason to pull children out of public school during the school day for religious instruction — except indoctrination.
And when that indoctrination model creates new access points to children, parents have every right to demand answers.

- Facebook User: They need to be doing fingerprinting and FBI/BCI background checks. The same standard as HCP and teachers. Anything else is unacceptable. Professional affiliations and licensures need to be looked into and calls made to any associated former employers. Detailed online search for social media and subscriptions. This is not that hard. Require that candidates provide all names and alias, email addresses. Like do they have an email affiliated with a porn site? If they want the job they’ll comply. I could spend 30 minutes or less and give you a detailed report of my findings. They are literally giving the least amount of effort possible to ensure adequate vetting and the safety of these children.
