šØ LifeWise appears to have used a childrenās field trip to erase the persecution of other religions and tell kids only Christianity matters.
LifeWise AcademyāPatrick Henry publicly posted that an adult was āattending a field trip with our 3rd and 4th gradersā at Sauder Village.
According to LifeWiseās own post, that adult used the trip to lead children into a religious conversation where the takeaway was that Jesus is āthe only true Godā and āthe only one that matters.ā
Yep. Read that again.
Children appear to have been on a field trip connected to a public school, and LifeWise is celebrating that the moment became a theological lesson about why only one religion matters.
This is the danger of white Christian nationalism in public-school spaces: it does not always announce itself with slurs or slogans. Sometimes it shows up as a smiling adult using childrenās ignorance about other peopleās persecution to teach them that only one religion, one story, and one people truly matter.
A child not knowing about the persecution of Jewish people, Muslims, Sikhs, Indigenous communities, and other religious minorities is not an opening for evangelism.
It is a responsibility to teach the truth.
LifeWise chose the opposite.
And that is fucking vile.
This is exactly what we have been warning about.
LifeWise does not just want released time.
They want access.
-Access to children.
-Access to school systems.
-Access to field trips.
-Access to the authority and trust that public schools create.
And that should scare the hell out of every parent.
Persecution is NOT being told you cannot use public school access to evangelize children.
Religious instruction belongs at home, at church, or after school.
Public school children should not become a captive audience for dominionist evangelical ideology dressed up as character education.
What people are saying:
- Secular Education Association: For clarity: LifeWiseās own post says an adult was āattending a field trip with our 3rd and 4th gradersā at Sauder Village.
That wording alone raises serious questions about whether LifeWise-affiliated adults had access to children during a school-connected event.
And regardless of the exact trip structure, allegedly using childrenās ignorance about religious persecution to tell them only Christianity matters is vile.
That is NOT character education.
That is indoctrination.
- Facebook User: Secular Education Association well remember a few months ago they had Penton in the schools for a fitness thing and claimed it was āokayā because he wasnāt there in a LW capacity. Thatās how he got around it. (Except it gave him face time with kids and they prob talked about who he was.)
- Secular Education Association: Facebook User absolutely! And heās well versed in doing so- that was the entire point of the Relevant Speakers Network. Get into schools under the guise of a neutral motivational speaking -drop subtle and not so subtle hints at religion – then encourage them to come to a full on service after school to continue the āmessageā.
- Facebook User: Many here know me….this has so many problems in addition to a random adult present. German church, what is it? Many Reformed churches built minimalist sanctuaries. There were all kinds of Christians from Germany. Folks just make up answers with no basis in any reality.
- Facebook User: Facebook User, considering how certain Protestants were adamantly opposed to anything resembling the elaborate interiors typical of Catholic churches, I imagine some worshipped Christ in the plainest places imaginable.
- Facebook User: What a shameful, ignorant organization. Perpetuating lies, brainwashing, craziness.
- Facebook User: Ah yes,.. let us not speak of the Holocaust⦠or the countless times CHRISTIAN religions have been the ones doing the persecutingā¦
- Facebook User: Facebook User hello Crusades š
- Facebook User: š¤®
- Facebook User: Facebook User I came here to say that
- Facebook User: š¤®
- Facebook User: This is disgusting tbh.
Yeahā¦āreligiousā groups in the millions š
- Facebook User: This is my alma mater and sadly it doesnāt surprise me. We skipped WWII history in my American History class in high school so the persecution and annihilation of Jews would be a foreign concept to those people.
- Facebook User: Facebook User wow.
- Facebook User: LifeWise is dangerous. Why do parents allow this?
- Facebook User: So theyāre volunteering for field trips now to brainwash kids.
- Secular Education Association: Facebook User sure seems that way. š¤·āāļø
- Facebook User: Facebook User cult like conversations
- Facebook User: Totally agree. LifeWise must be stopped from this type of activity in public schools.
- Facebook User: Yes, sadly, Christians are persecuted in many parts of the world. But to say theyāre the ONLY religious group thatās ever been mass-persecuted is just patently false. Has this person never heard of an event called the Holocaust?
