🚨 What permanently disqualifies someone from working with children in LifeWise?

That should be an easy question.

One year ago, the LifeWise state director for Oklahoma was asked about background checks. His answer should alarm every parent.

He explained that some checks come back with “flags” when something has not been resolved yet. Then he said:

“We’re forgiving people.”

He also said that if someone has “been to the courts and dealt with everything,” the background check can come back clear.

That raises a serious child safety question:
If someone has a past offense involving children, violence, abuse, sexual misconduct, drugs, or other disqualifying conduct — does LifeWise permanently ban them from working with students?

Or can they still be considered “forgiven”?

Because when children are being pulled out of public school during the school day and placed under the supervision of a private religious program, vague reassurances are not enough.

LifeWise’s background-check vendor explanations have changed over time. This older video references Protect My Ministry. 2024 reporting referenced ProScreening. LifeWise now says it uses ADP.

But the vendor name is not the real issue.
A background check is only as strong as the written policy behind it. Parents deserve to see the current written policy.
