🌈Pride Month reminder:

We keep hearing, ā€œWell if they can put all that aLpHaBeT sOuP stuff in schoolsā€¦ā€ šŸ™„

They don’t.

🚫Public schools are not taking children off campus for an hour a week to teach LGBTQ+ doctrine.

🚫Public schools are not busing kids to Pride centers during math, art, music, library, or recess.

🚫Public schools are not asking churches to donate vans so children can be pulled from the school day to memorize queer theory.

🚫Public schools are not giving kids candy, prizes, pizza, or matching shirts to pressure them into LGBTQ+ programming.

🚫Public schools are not telling children their straight classmates are lost, broken, sinful, or in need of saving.

āœ”ļøAt most, schools acknowledge that LGBTQ+ people exist. That some students have two moms or two dads. That some kids are gay or trans. That every child deserves to be safe from bullying.

That is not indoctrination.
That is basic human dignity.

There is a massive difference between supporting children who already exist and using the public school day to recruit children into a private religious worldview.

LGBTQ+ kids are not an agenda.
They are students. They are CHILDREN.

And they belong in public schools without being shamed, erased, targeted, or turned into someone else’s mission field. Period.

Follow Secular Education Association if you believe public schools should protect all children…not preach to them.

What people are saying:

  • Secular Education Association: Quick note:
This post is about LGBTQ+ kids being students, classmates, friends, siblings, neighbors, and loved members of our school communities.

It is not an invitation to debate their dignity.

So if your bigot typing fingers are itching today, please know: you are not going to scare us, shame us, or change our minds. You are mostly just boosting the reach on a post that says LGBTQ+ kids belong in public school.

As always, we reserve the right to hide, delete, block, ban, screenshot for the group chat, and keep protecting this space.

And friends: if you see something nasty before we do, please tag us. We’re not letting people use our comment section to bully anyone.

    LGBTQ+ kids are students.
    Not an agenda.

    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association did not interpret this as a student statement…I believed that it was aimed at the concept of schools indoctrinating students and ā€œgroomingā€ them to be LGBTQ etc.. I know that this is not happening…but students are being pulled from public schools for religious indoctrination for sure. Thanks for addressing this.
    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association With respect, we do not get to control when someone else makes us their agenda. People need to be told when someone is acting against them, as you are here, so they can respond accordingly. I think Zach would agree that saying something is not so does not make it not so. I realize you are using a rhetorical device with good intention, but denial does not protect the kids.
  • Secular Education Association: This is the difference they keep trying to blur: supporting LGBTQ+ students who already exist is not the same as using the public school day to recruit children into a private religious program.

    One protects kids.
    The other targets them.

    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association Possibly more accurate to say “groom” instead of “recruit”.
    • Secular Education Association: Facebook User both? šŸ˜•
    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association same coin – different sides
    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association as a retired public school teacher and also a practicing Christian, I really don’t understand this argument to begin with. The Bible does NOT say, “make your school teach everyone what you believe.” It says to teach your OWN children, day by day as you go through your life. You teach faith to your family through conversation, serving others, and general kindness over a lifetime. That includes unreserved acceptance of and love for others.
    • Facebook User: It is abundantly clear which group “targets” kids. It not “religion.”
    • Facebook User: Facebook User its abundantly clear your grindr account is pathetic
    • Facebook User: Facebook User attributes aren’t a religion.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User it’s both lol
    • Facebook User: Facebook User have you ever considered not commenting childish things? When both left and right make comments such as this, both sides look equally as stupid.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User nope. I will continue to mock openly idiots promoting bigotry. Attributes don’t recruit, religion does.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User both sides groom kids.

Yikes. Really shows your level of intelligence, and how little love you actually have for other people.

Imagine if you used that energy for productive conversations and debates instead of immediately acting childish and being a bully.

    • Facebook User: Facebook User your bigotry is showing. My intolerance towards bigots remains. A powerful PRIDE ā¤ļøšŸ©·šŸ§”šŸ’›šŸ’ššŸ’™šŸ©µšŸ’œ
    • Facebook User: Facebook User this is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.

Absolutely nothing I said makes me a bigot. I was encouraging you to grow as a person and treat others with the same kindness and respect that one would hope to receive from another person.

Your stupidity and ignorance is showing.

      Happy pride 🌈

    • Facebook User: Facebook User “both side groom” is a bigoted response. Maybe reconsider your words first. Attributes aren’t a choice. The LGBTQIA community CAN’T MAKE KIDS GAY OR TRANS. You either are or you aren’t. So there’s NOT grooming on both sides.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User it’s not a bigoted response. You just don’t like my response.

Every group of people, whether it’s religion, the lgbt+ community, left vs right, has sick people.

Religious groups pulling children out of class for bible study. Drag queens interrupting class for ā€œread alongsā€.

The left & right compare the lgbt+ community to the church constantly, and quite frankly, neither belong in schools.

Let kids be kids. They love everyone until someone teaches them otherwise. I send my children to school to learn English, math, history, science. Not to figure out who they hate and who they want to sleep with at 6 years old.

I really do hope you reflect on your actions and how to speak to people. The power of love and kindness will always trump hate and bullying.

You have turned into the very thing you claim to be against.

And when I said happy pride, I meant it. I’m not a Jesus loving homophobe like you have assumed.

    • Facebook User: Facebook User 怋it’s not a bigoted response. You just don’t like my response.

Its a bigoted response- you just don’t want to be told it is. They KEY to why it is?
These key phrases: “has sick people…Drag queens interrupting class for ā€œread alongsā€…
Not to figure out who they hate and who they want to sleep with at 6 years old. ”

You can DRESS your bigotry up but its plain to see and I won’t stand for it.
Costumes and read a longs are fun. I’ve done it.
Kids with 2 Moms and 2 Dads or some variation need representation that they aren’t “freaks or weird” !
And pedophiles aren’t part of the community like YOU painted. Shame on you.

    • Facebook User: I’d just like to know when and where ā€œDrag Queens interrupt class for read alongs.ā€ There certainly have been libraries, etc. that have held Drag story hours, and I have heard of schools having assemblies with a program people have questioned. But I can’t imagine how anyone much less a Drag Queen, would get into a school building, past the office staff and security, and then enter a classroom unannounced.
In a public school everything is planned and monitored.
  • Facebook User: Absolute banger of a post. -a former GAY STUDENT
    • Secular Education Association: Facebook User thank you, this means a lot. Real kids grow up in these schools. Real kids hear what adults say about them. And every single one of them deserves to feel safe, seen, and protected in public school. ā¤ļø
    • Facebook User: Facebook User former? Always be a student, no matter how old you are!
    • Facebook User: That I am! I’ve become a student of Weimar and Nazi germany since 2022, I can list every single parallel republicans share with nazis (it’s a lot but here’s the gist:)
    • Facebook User: Facebook User I just taught 4 Girl Scouts the Holocaust. They connected the dots hard.
  • Facebook User:
  • Facebook User: Stop lying
  • Facebook User: Religion does “recruit”. Homosexual advocates do. Religion does not the that perversion and debaucher is normal. Homosexual agenda does. YOUR hypocritical hatred and bigotry is on full display.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User attraction is an unconscious biological response to stimuli and not a choice.
Christian Nationalism teaches the perversion of submission and gender stereotypes that prevent women leadership. Christian Nationalism teaches kids to be fucking awful to others.
Your hatred is clear. Tolerance of your intolerance is cowardice. Get fucked buddy. Like you need a good pegging. 🤣
    • Facebook User: Facebook User attraction is an unconscious biological response to stimuli and not a choice.
Christian Nationalism teaches the perversion of submission and gender roles that prevent women leadership. Christian Nationalism teaches kids to become awful bigoted turds.
Your hatred is clear. Tolerance of your intolerance would be cowardice. So please have the day you deserve, like the back of a Volkswagen. šŸ˜ŽšŸ–•
    • Facebook User: Facebook User oh Mike. You can’t recruit someone to be gay. You’re so silly. You need to stop trying. It’s just not possible.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User saying religion doesn’t make perversion seem normal while there are overwhelming statistics on the amount of religious leaders charged with sexual assault crimes against children is a cult statement. You’re in a cult. But you’re so full of hate for someone different than you, you’re just gonna bypass right on over those facts, huh? No hate like christian love.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User They certainly are not born that way. That is why the suicide rate among homosexual is so high. They have believed the lie that they a trapped in a hopeless lifestyle with no chance to escape.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User no one ever knocked on my door to try to convince me to be gay. There are no buildings dedicated to the practice of homosexuality.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User, how exactly did you determine this? Do you have gay friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors? People just living their lives like all of us. The despair comes from the hatred of not being accepted.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User, just to clarify, not all Christians are like this. Those who actually follow the teachings understand that this awful stance is not faith based at all.
    • Facebook User: Basic common sense. Homosexuality is unnatural and a perversion of nature.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User, again, do you know anyone? Your statement appears to be one of lack of knowledge and experience. Get to know people as they are. It does you no harm.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User,
    • Facebook User: I don’t hate anyone.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User ooooo we have an agenda now? Dang I hate missing those darn antifa meetings.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User the idea that homosexuality is ā€œunnatural ā€œ is false. There are over a thousand other species that exhibit homosexuality. This is particularly true of other primates. Farmers have known this for hundreds of years. About 10% of rams are homosexual. Herders have known to verify that a male is attracted to a ewe before buying. Homosexuality is a normal variation. Doctors and psychologists have known for more than a hundred years that sexual orientation is fixed and cannot be changed. Nobody is recruited ā€œinto the lifestyleā€. Your personal opinion on the matter is irrelevant. You are simply wrong.
