  This post is about LGBTQ+ kids being students, classmates, friends, siblings, neighbors, and loved members of our school communities.

  It is not an invitation to debate their dignity.

  So if your bigot typing fingers are itching today, please know: you are not going to scare us, shame us, or change our minds. You are mostly just boosting the reach on a post that says LGBTQ+ kids belong in public school.

I know that this is not happening…but students are being pulled from public schools for religious indoctrination for sure. Thanks for addressing this.

The Bible does NOT say, “make your school teach everyone what you believe.” It says to teach your OWN children, day by day as you go through your life. You teach faith to your family through conversation, serving others, and general kindness over a lifetime. That includes unreserved acceptance of and love for others.

    Let kids be kids. They love everyone until someone teaches them otherwise. I send my children to school to learn English, math, history, science. Not to figure out who they hate and who they want to sleep with at 6 years old.

    I really do hope you reflect on your actions and how to speak to people. The power of love and kindness will always trump hate and bullying.

  • Facebook User: I’d just like to know when and where “Drag Queens interrupt class for read alongs.” There certainly have been libraries, etc. that have held Drag story hours, and I have heard of schools having assemblies with a program people have questioned. But I can’t imagine how anyone much less a Drag Queen, would get into a school building, past the office staff and security, and then enter a classroom unannounced.
    In a public school everything is planned and monitored.
