Florida’s release-time mandate is not new.

What is new is the AG stepping in NOW, during this national LifeWise push, to turn that law into pressure on school boards.

The article says his answer was one word: yes …districts must allow students to leave class for off-campus religious instruction. It also says the opinion quotes Deuteronomy and Psalms and refers to “the LORD” while telling public school boards what they must do.

We see the law.
We see the timing.
We see LifeWise.
We see the ADF pipeline.

This is not neutrality.

They are using public schools as the delivery system.

What people are saying:

  • Secular Education Association: SEA has been tracking this nationally.

Florida was already marked SHALL / mandatory on our Released Time Religious Instruction state law map because the mandate was already in state law.

That is why this AG opinion matters. It is not creating the opening from scratch; it is tightening the pressure on school boards at the exact moment LifeWise and the religious-right legal pipeline are pushing release time across the country.

    This is the pattern:
    Lawmakers create the opening.
    Attorneys General apply the pressure.
Religious programs show up at school boards with both.

  • Facebook User: This whole idea is conservative movement to put a private Christian tuen on public school education. It should be debunked for what it is, and attempt at thought control and indoctrination in conformity.
  • Facebook User: It’s called Sunday school and it happens at their place of worship.
  • Facebook User: This should be totally wrong. Students in public schools should not be required to be released for any kind of religious teaching. Keep religion in this way out of public schools.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User this should be illegal! Children’s safety is my concern plus what are kids being taught!
  • Facebook User: All other students should be free to leave as well.
  • Facebook User: Religion is a family responsibility that should be done on family time, not in public school.
  • Facebook User: My zionist sunday school is the SAME time as math class.
  • Facebook User: Not with my tax dollars! This is crazy separation of church and state! Freedom of religion all the reasons our ancestors came here. What is wrong with the world? That is what Sundays and Wednesday evenings are for or maybe dinner table discussions. Lots of ways parents can handle the religious needs of their children.
  • Facebook User: They should do that on their own time, not during school hours. Which brings up another question: Who’s legally responsible for those kids during that time? They’re not on campus so the school shouldn’t be. Are these groups background checking their instructors? I doubt it. So who’s responsible when something inevitably happens?
  • Facebook User: Facebook User I’ve been tagging you.
  • Facebook User: Florida needs forced imaginary religious baloney. Their imaginary gods just aren’t capable of winning young converts without brainwashing sessions at the expense of public education. Time to tax the churches.
  • Facebook User: We voted these characters into elected office and now we wonder why we have this ultraconservative religious group becoming our future K-12 education system.
  • Facebook User: Piece of shit
  • Facebook User: Un-American. Catering to churches who don’t pay taxes. Churches are morally and ethically wrong to want this. Absolutely that period when those kids leave should be art, music, or gym, whatever the kids want. NO way should public schools be catering to churches. Sounds much like what Hitler did………….only starting the brainwashing pretending it’s religion. I guess America is going to become a slave state run by a crazed king,
