Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Jay County Christian Academy says Indiana’s Choice Scholarship will fully cover its tuition- leaving families with only a $100 enrollment fee.
👉No income limit. No requirement that the student ever attended public school. Nearly free private Christian education, funded by taxpayers.
Voucher supporters sold this as help for families with limited options. So why no income limit? Yeah. EXACTLY.
Public education dollars are being redirected into private religious schools that can promote one faith, control admissions and avoid many of the obligations imposed on public schools. Meanwhile, public schools must still educate every child, with fewer and fewer resources.
That is not “school choice.” It is the deliberate dismantling of public education to subsidize religious privatization. PERIOD.
A supporter from Jay County sent this to SEA asking whether anyone is organizing or even bringing attention to what is happening.
Yes. We are.
