NEW ALBANY, OHIO — The irony here is hard to miss.
LifeWise Academy featured this family standing in front of what appears to be Church of the Resurrection – New Albany, a Catholic parish in New Albany, while praising LifeWise for teaching children that they do not “take off their Christian hat” at school.
But LifeWise does not teach generic Christianity. It uses an evangelical Protestant curriculum, and concerns about conflicts with Catholic doctrine are well documented. Catholic leaders have warned families that LifeWise teachings do not fully align with the Catechism.
It has also been reported by a former church employee that LifeWise previously approached this specific parish about using its space, was turned down, and continued pressing afterward. SEA has not independently confirmed that account.
A Catholic church is being used as the setting for promotional messaging from a ministry whose theology can directly conflict with Catholic teaching. That is more than a little ironic.
