🚨 This is a LifeWise Academy class.
“Do you know who the authority is over all the authorities?”
“God.”
Children are then taught that it is “really good for us to follow the people who are in charge of us” and that choosing to place yourself under the authority of others is called submission.
Those are LifeWise’s words—not ours.
This is not neutral “character education.” It is religious instruction teaching children a specific theology of authority, obedience, and submission during the public school day.
And the implications are disturbing… 😳
What happens when the person “in charge” is abusive? What happens when it is a pastor, teacher, parent, spouse, or another trusted adult using religious authority to demand silence and compliance?
Abusers routinely exploit ideas about obedience, submission, and “God’s will” to control victims. The same framework can be used to keep children silent about sexual abuse, keep adults trapped in abusive marriages, and shame people into accepting coercion or mistreatment as something ordained by God.
👉Teaching children that submission to authority is inherently virtuous—without equally emphasizing bodily autonomy, conscience, critical thinking, and their absolute right to question, resist, and report unsafe adults—is not merely concerning. It can make vulnerable children easier to manipulate.
Children need to know that adults can be wrong. Authority figures can be dangerous. No person speaks for God in a way that overrides a child’s safety, boundaries, or right to say no.
Parents deserve to know exactly what their children are being taken out of school to learn.
What people are saying:
- Facebook User: We as Americans have a DUTY to question our leaders. It’s quite literally our job as citizens. Teaching Americans to buckle under to an authority greater than our leaders? Is Un-American.
- Facebook User: How is this not considered grooming?
- Facebook User: Facebook User It is. They just won’t admit it.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Because the Bible was used to teach in America’s public schools from the beginning, that’s how.
- Facebook User: Keep this away from public schools. Church is where it belongs
- Facebook User: Facebook User Did you tell the founding fathers?
- Facebook User: What the…
- Facebook User: Objection, Leading the witness,
- Facebook User: Is there more of the video to be found somewhere?
- Facebook User: Choosing to have the boot on her neck. You’ll never convince me this isn’t grooming.
- Facebook User: OMG- And people wonder why I follow no religion. I know there is goodness somewhere out there- but so much bad done in the name of some religion.
- Facebook User: Facebook User I respect people’s right to follow whatever religion, or no religion, but when I see children being taught that “submission” is a core value, I am extremely disturbed. Particularly when it’s coming from an org with a documented history of employing child abusers.
- Facebook User: “This framework can be used to keep children silent about sexual abuse….”. Can be used? It IS used to silence victims.
- Facebook User: How else do we maintain the failed patriarchy?
- Facebook User: OMG ..🙄😱
- Facebook User: If God is not above the government then you should always obey the government no matter what. The government says Lifewise is acceptable for public school students. Obey your government.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Submission can kiss my and my daughter’s ass. So can the government. Facebook User
- Zachary Parrish: Justin Gentry fun fact, you actually don’t have obey anyone, I mean isn’t that literally why your God gave us the gift of free will?
- Facebook User: Facebook User In a free country (which we still have for now despite your best efforts) WE TELL THE GOVERNMENT WHAT TO DO.
- Facebook User: Facebook User yes, and the majority have told the government that lifewise is acceptable for public school students. Good job.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Wait, so utilizing a legal loophole counts as ‘obeying the government’ now? The mental gymnastics are truly breathtaking.
- Facebook User: Facebook User false. A ruling made RTRI permissible. There’s absolutely no vote on this program.
- Facebook User: Facebook User you would cry if any other group with a religious affiliation did the same.
- Facebook User: Facebook User No, the majority have not. Stop peddling propaganda.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Imagine having this much loud confidence while completely confusing a Supreme Court loophole for a government blessing. Mindless henchman behavior🤡
- Facebook User: Justin Gentry Nope. That was the whole point of the Enlightenment. If there is no God giving authority to the government, then we have no reason to follow that government if it is doing things against our will or our wishes. We are allowed to change our governments or our laws at will, because no divine authority is making them happen, and we aren’t going against the divine will by changing them.
- Facebook User: Facebook User groomers told the government that Lifewise is acceptable, but it’s full of sexual predators and wackjobs.
- Facebook User: Facebook User Are you going to obey a Communist government?
- Facebook User: I would immediately remove my child from that school.
- Facebook User: Absurd and tragic
- Facebook User: This is indoctrination. That’s what maga is always saying shouldn’t happen in schools.
- Facebook User: Gross. Telling kids about a sky daddy is grooming
- Facebook User: That’s what these conservatives love – authority and blind submission smh.
- Facebook User: Sounds like gross pedo grooming
- Zachary Parrish: Try teaching my daughter to blindly submit to authority and I’ll submit my foot in your ass.
- Facebook User: I’m sorry. I just can’t. “Don’t groom the children!!” And they’re out here giving them a poorly disguised Kink 101 class. I’m ded. 💀
