Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports a public school teacher in Arkansas scheduled a student for a LifeWise class without the student’s knowledge –

“My (elective) for monday April 13th says i’m going to a church??” the student wrote. “What is lifewise academy? I’m honestly a bit confused.”

The teacher, Caitlin Altman, wrote back: “So since you didnt pick your (elective) stuff for this week, I had to stick you in a class that has room for you. Sorry!”

SEA sees the type of issues reported in this article popping up in every state, every district, and every school that LifeWise spreads to. It’s the same intrusive playbook, the same endorsement issues, the same entanglement, the same incompetence and irresponsibility.

SEA’s co-founder summed it up perfectly:

“LifeWise functions very much in, like, a, ‘If you give a mouse a cookie’ way, If you let them, they will do it.”

  • Facebook User: That’s crazy
  • Facebook User: Yeah… These douche canoes need to get sued. If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile.
  • Facebook User: I can only imagine the outrage if, instead of LifeWise, this student were signed up for mosque or synagogue or even Catholic catechism if the student were… I dunno… Jehova’s Witness.
  • Facebook User: Nope!
  • Facebook User: If it’s considered an “elective”, then that means it’s part of the school curriculum and that’s a problem.
  • Facebook User: Oh no! It might take a whole 5 minute parent phone call to school to clear this up! It’s just like Nazi Germany!
  • Facebook User: I want to believe my grandson’s are smart enough.. because of great training…to say “nope..not going..call my parents!” This whole trap is ridiculous and just need parents to rise up and preferably stop it before it hits their schools or if not, rise up and demand the schools put clear, very limited rules in place as to how long the children can be gone, steps parents need to take to catch the students up on any missed material. It is not the school’s responsibility, nor is it right to limit what curriculum is taught while they are out being indocrinated.
  • Facebook User: Nope. Religious education is for home and church, not public school. I’d be up there so fast their heads would spin. THIS is a good reason to home school.
