We hear this constantly: “Have you contacted the ACLU? Americans United? FFRF?”

Yes.

We have contacted all of them. Repeatedly.

We’ve been in internal meetings.
We’ve spoken at their conferences.
We’ve supplied data, documentation, and firsthand accounts from families.
We’ve asked them to help sound the alarm — while fully understanding that not every case can or should be litigated.

The truth is, SEA cannot fix every one of these situations yet. We do not have the legal departments, budgets, or institutional power these larger organizations have.

That is exactly why we sought their support.
And too often, we have been met with inaction or no meaningful help.
But we are doing something we have been asking them to do much more loudly:

🚨SOUNDING THE DAMN ALARM.

We are educating parents.
We are warning communities.
We are documenting what is happening.
We are connecting families who thought they were alone.
We are putting information in people’s hands before the damage is done.

We are not waiting for the perfect lawsuit.
We are not waiting for the perfect plaintiff.
We are not waiting until the harm is already done and somebody finally decides the facts are clean enough for court.

Families need information NOW.
That is why SEA exists.

We may not have all the power yet.
But we are not going to be quiet. 📢

What people are saying:

  • Facebook User: We’re on the right track, filling the gap between legal groups and grounds while building public awareness. I’m confident ‘have you contacted SEA?’ will be common soon.
The surge in troll comments on our public page indicates we’re effective. They’re trying to wear us down, but let’s keep our heads cool and not get baited. Most troll comments are ragebait and off-topic anyway.
  • Facebook User: I met Bruce Gourman from Americans United yesterday, he delivered a keynote at a local 1st Amendment conference, and he was super nice but it was a tad bittersweet knowing what I know from SEA.

I will never understand why people aren’t taking the fact that they’re going after children to brainwash the next generation more seriously. Some of these kids will go all-in and end up shaping policy, teaching, become lawyers, politicians, influencers, and more. Children ARE the future and they should be limited to the families opting in at churches and other fascist meeting places!!

    • Secular Education Association: Facebook User YES. Exactly this.

That bittersweet feeling is so real when you meet genuinely kind people inside these organizations and still cannot understand why the response to what is happening has been so muted.

We have felt that frustration for years. We have been dismissed at nearly every turn while putting our own livelihoods, time, and financial resources on the line trying to get people to understand how serious this is.

So no — you are not imagining the disconnect. We see it too.
