Meet Idaho Family Policy Center — Family Policy Alliance’s current Idaho ally. And Idaho is one of the clearest examples yet of why we are doing this series.
Idaho Family Policy Center does not describe itself as some vague “family values” organization. It calls itself a ministry that exists to “advance the lordship of Christ in the public square” by engaging churches, promoting what it calls “God-honoring public policy,” and training political leaders.
It also says the Great Commission includes a “cultural mandate” to point society back toward what it considers God’s design. 👀🚩
And public education is very much part of that mission.
Idaho Family Policy Center has pushed legislation to bring school-sponsored Bible reading back into Idaho public-school classrooms.
Its proposed policy would create a statewide system allowing public-school teachers to read sequential Bible passages to students — and its own materials explicitly say the proposal does not extend the same treatment to other religious texts.
Its 2026 legislative agenda says Idaho children and communities are “starved for the biblical principles” it believes once shaped society and calls on lawmakers to “bring the Bible back into the classroom.”
Idaho Family Policy Center says it belongs to the nationwide family policy council movement and works closely with national organizations including Family Policy Alliance, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family and Alliance Defending Freedom.

🚩 Idaho Family Policy Center was formerly Family Policy Alliance of Idaho. That comes directly from IFPC itself.
So when we say these organizations are part of the same national infrastructure, this one is about as literal as it gets. And we can see exactly how that infrastructure works.
Family Policy Alliance says that in 2020 it worked alongside its Idaho ally to help draft and pass Idaho’s first-in-the-nation law restricting transgender participation in girls’ sports. Idaho Family Policy Center says it worked with Rep. Barbara Ehardt and Alliance Defending Freedom to move that law through Idaho. The model then spread to states across the country.
That is the point of this series.
These fights do not simply materialize independently in 50 different statehouses.
There is an ecosystem.
There are national organizations.
There are state policy groups.
There are legal organizations.
There are church-engagement networks.
🚩And there are lawmakers carrying the resulting policies into government and public education.
So when a bill suddenly appears involving:
public schools.
Bible reading.
“parental rights.”
LGBTQ students.
curriculum.
religious expression.
Do not look only at the legislator whose name is on it. Look at the NETWORK behind it.
