This isn’t hypothetical.
Nearly HALF of Muslim families with K–12 children surveyed in a 2025 national study said their children had experienced religious bullying in the previous year. And among the families reporting that bullying, nearly half identified an adult as one of the people responsible.
Teachers. School officials. Parents of other children. Adults.
Muslim students praying in public schools is not new. Christian students pray. Jewish students pray. Muslim students pray. Students of many faiths exercise individual religious rights at school.
Federal protections allow students to pray individually or with other students, so long as the prayer is student-initiated and not school-sponsored. Schools may also make a quiet, neutral space available so students can pray without disrupting instruction.
🚫That room is not an “Islamic classroom.”
🚫It is not the school teaching Islam.
🚫It is not the school endorsing Islam.
✅It is a child exercising an individual religious right.
And it has been happening for years in the same exact way. But what has changed is the rhetoric surrounding it. 👀
Ordinary religious accommodation is increasingly being presented as evidence that Muslims are “taking over” public schools. Individual religious freedom is being deliberately confused with government-sponsored religion.
And when grown adults inject fear, suspicion and hostility toward Muslims into conversations about religious freedom and the separation of church and state, we need to recognize what that really accomplishes:
🚨🚨It turns Muslim children exercising individual religious rights into a threat — and then uses that manufactured threat to justify Christian nationalist demands for religious privilege.🚨🚨
The fear is useful. If a Muslim child praying can be portrayed as “Islam taking over our schools,” then privileging Christianity can be repackaged as “protecting” America. 😡
That isn’t religious freedom. It’s using fear of one faith to justify government preference for another. And the kids hear it.
Imagine being eight years old and realizing adults are afraid of you because you pray differently. Imagine being able to read comments about Muslims “taking over” schools and realizing:
They mean me.
Imagine wondering whether your teacher thinks it too. Whether your friend’s parents do. Whether simply practicing your faith makes you less welcome in your own school.
NO CHILD should have to carry that.
They are not the threat.
The hate is.
What people are saying:
- Facebook User: This
- Facebook User: If your position is that religion shall not be in schools, why are you advocating for Muslim prayer?
- Facebook User: There is a massive difference between accommodating a student’s personal freedom and disrupting an entire school schedule for an outside organization.
Accommodating a student’s private prayer keeps the school neutral. Changing school policies and schedules to facilitate a massive corporate religious program is the opposite of neutrality. - Facebook User: Facebook User that’s not what Secular Education Association is saying.
They are for individual student expression of their personal religious beliefs without stopping education time on school property.
What they AREN’T FOR is third parties and staff pushing their beliefs into students during school hours and stopping education time for all students

- Facebook User: In the 1970s in America females were getting their clitoris cut and burned off by Christian religious freaks do we really wanna go there again
- Facebook User: Anthropomorphizing God is the root problem behind nearly every conceptual contradiction in religion.
When you give God human traits thoughts, moods, preferences, anger, jealousy, favoritism, plans, emotions, rewards, punishments you turn an unbounded, indefinable reality into a character with psychological needs. That instantly creates logical conflicts. A human-shaped God must choose, react, get offended, change His mind, negotiate, fight enemies, issue commands, and withhold blessings. That opens the door to fear, control, guilt, tribalism, chosen-people narratives, and moral hypocrisy, because now God becomes a projection of human psychology rather than a transcendent principle.
When God is anthropomorphized, prayer becomes lobbying, morality becomes obedience, suffering becomes punishment, and religion becomes a system of managing a cosmic parent. This turns spirituality into an emotional dependency rather than an encounter with truth. It keeps people in a childlike mindset afraid of displeasing an authority figure rather than growing in awareness.
Notice the consequences:
– If God has emotions, you can manipulate Him.
– If God has preferences, your group can claim to be the favorite.
– If God has enemies, violence becomes holy.
– If God gives commands, leaders can speak “for God.”
– If God rewards and punishes, life becomes a gamble of ritual compliance.
– If God has a will, your suffering can be justified as divine intention—no questions allowed.Once God is imagined as a superhuman mind, the entire religious system becomes a psychological mirror: the deity simply reflects the desires, fears, traumas, and power structures of the culture that invented Him. This is why different societies create different gods each one a story about themselves.
The moment you remove anthropomorphizing, all of that collapses. God stops being a person with opinions and becomes something else entirely: a description of reality, consciousness, existence, truth, being, awareness, the ground of experience. No personality. No gender. No emotions. No favorites. No threats.
Then religion shifts from obedience to understanding. From fear to awareness. From belief to experience.
Jesus, Lao Tzu, Buddha, and Socrates all pointed, each in different language, to a non-anthropomorphic truth. They spoke about a way of seeing, not a cosmic character with feelings. The tragedy is that later followers grafted human traits back onto the infinite so the institution could control behavior.
Anthropomorphizing is the precise moment the infinite becomes childish, the holy becomes political, and fear becomes sacred. Remove it, and most religious problems disappear.
