    He was interviewed and went public regarding religion for Toledo public students.

• Facebook User: First of all, before anybody comes at me, I completely believe in separation of church and state. I think involving religion in public education is completely wrong and completely unconstitutional.

  That having been said, starting optional after school clubs, even religious ones, is not illegal. Now if they encourage the kids in these clubs to come into class and start proselytizing, that’s a completely different story.

  I don’t know what Dr. Durant really said. This is the first I’ve heard of it. I don’t know enough to confirm or deny the allegation.

    2nd, to claim you support separation of church and state and then proceed to compare the superintendent endorsing and calling for Christian clubs in school to other extracurriculars is disingenuous at best.

    The Toledo blade printed the story and interview.
    That is not his job as a public school administrator. To implement any religious instruction.
    He clearly needs to go! He was not appointed to teach or provide religion.
