🚨 SO MUCH FOR “RELIGIOUS LIBERTY.”
-Texas fought to put the Ten Commandments in public-school classrooms.
-Texas created a $1 billion voucher program sending public money to private religious schools.
And when Islamic schools sought access to that same program, they had to sue the state after being excluded. 👀
👉Now Texas lawmakers are openly discussing how to target Muslims again.
At Texas Values’ Texas Faith Fest, elected lawmakers sat on a panel literally called:
“DON’T SHARIA MY TEXAS.”
The irony would be funny if it weren’t so dangerous.
The SAME people warning that Muslims are going to impose their religion on everyone else were sitting on a stage discussing how to use government power to impose THEIR religious beliefs on Muslims — and the rest of us…
According to the Houston Chronicle, they discussed:
➡️ Keeping public voucher money away from Islamic schools.
➡️ Banning halal food in schools, prisons and other public institutions.
➡️ Restricting public calls to prayer.
Rep. Keresa Richardson for Texas said:
“The more uncomfortable they are, the better.”
Rep. Andy Hopper said Texas students should be taught “how awful Islam is.”
Texas Values board member John Bean questioned whether Islam should even be treated as a religion — and told the Chronicle his ultimate goal was to make Muslims feel so unwelcome that they leave.
Richardson said: “We want to win them to Christ.”
There is nothing left to decode here… They are accusing Muslims of wanting religious rule while openly discussing how their own religious beliefs should determine who gets public money, which religious practices government permits and what public-school children should be taught about another faith.
Christian schools receiving taxpayer money?
➡️Religious liberty.
Christian scripture mandated in public-school classrooms?
➡️Religious liberty.
Islamic schools receiving the SAME voucher dollars?
🚫Keep them out.
Muslims practicing their religion?
🚫Make them uncomfortable.
And if you’re reading this thinking this is only about Muslims, you are making a dangerous mistake.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND- Once government gets the power to decide which religions are legitimate, which beliefs deserve protection and which people should be made “uncomfortable,” none of us gets to control where that line is drawn next.
Jewish. Hindu. Buddhist. Mormon. Catholic. Atheist. And yes — Christian.
Because Christianity isn’t one thing either.
The people holding power today may approve of your church, your theology and your interpretation of Christianity for now…
Tomorrow? maybe not.
Assuming they will always consider your religion — or your particular flavor of Christianity — the “right” one is a mistake.
Church-state separation was never about protecting government from religion.
It protects all of us from a government that gets to choose which religion wins.

Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all have the same God, we’re all people of the book, and until we learn to accept our differences the cycle of religious violence is going to continue. The military industrial complex is the only one that wins. - Facebook User: What would be the term used if these statements were made about Jews rather than Muslims?
