ProPublica reporters established TWO private schools in just 24 hours. No teaching experience. No curriculum. Almost no oversight… 👀
👉Now consider what happens when states start funneling taxpayer dollars into private education, including religious schools.
Religious schools already receive public support through voucher and scholarship programs across the country. And unlike public schools, many operate with fewer requirements for transparency, curriculum, staffing, and accountability.
😳 ProPublica’s reporters didn’t open religious schools, and they didn’t receive taxpayer funding. But their investigation exposes a much bigger problem:
🚨We’re making it easier to fund private education with public dollars without ensuring the same standards of oversight we demand from public schools.
And with a new federal scholarship tax-credit program scheduled to begin in 2027, these questions are only becoming more urgent. If taxpayer dollars are supporting religious education, who is making sure those schools are safe, qualified, and accountable?
PUBLIC MONEY SHOULD COME WITH PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY.
