🚨 AN ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR OF MUSIC CLASSES. GONE. FOR LIFEWISE.

In an October 28 article, a LifeWise representative in Indiana explained that elementary students could miss the SAME special class every single week to attend LifeWise.

Her example?

“They would always miss music.”

ARE YOU KIDDING?!

Our kids get ONE fourth grade. ONE fifth grade. And we’re supposed to accept them missing an entire year’s worth of music classes so a private religious organization can teach them Bible lessons?

SINCE WHEN DID MUSIC, ART, AND CHOIR BECOME DISPOSABLE?

These are REAL classes. Taught by REAL educators. They’re part of our children’s education. And LifeWise knows exactly what students are giving up.

OUR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION IS NOT YOUR SACRIFICE TO MAKE.

LifeWise representative Maggie Andrews explains how elementary students can miss the SAME special class every week, all year long, to attend LifeWise. Her example? “They would always miss music.” And for middle school students? She describes her own son missing choir every Friday. These are LifeWise’s own explanations of how their program affects public school instruction.

Lifewise Academy Brings Bible Education Opportunities to Plainfield Students

Our children’s education is not expendable.

    • Facebook User: Secular Education Association
  • Facebook User: I thought this Christian Nationalist indoctrination was not supposed to interfere with instructional hours. “Special classes” are not “optional classes”.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User it is to the State.
  • Facebook User: This is the problem with Lifewise MEETING DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. I’m a retired art teacher. I had a scope and sequence curriculum for each grade level. I did not just toss out crayons and paper. With an art project that takes 3 weeks to complete, even missing one of the three classes has a major impact on whether the project is completed. Denying children the opportunity to have instruction and experiences in art and music is WRONG. Sundays, evenings, or after school is a more suitable time for religious education. If Lifewise would establish an afterschool program, working parents would love it.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User the goal is to push their way in to the school to reach EVERY CHILD.
  • Facebook User: I thought they said it would not distract from the school curriculum at all. If they can’t get the message across in a 30 min recess they should have an afterschool program …and how about having it at their churches?
    • Facebook User: Facebook User Lifewise lies. Always.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User which begs the question why the district even gives them an extra minute. As a teacher I’d refuse to give them a grade and probably back up important lessons to the recess time. The parents need to be responsible for their learning if they are gone.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User the State protects them in the law. 3313.6022
  • Facebook User: Here’s a novel idea to make sure kids don’t miss 36 hours (6 or more full days) of school. Keep kids in school, since every minute of the school day is essential to their development -even recess, music, art, etc. Then leave the religious education to the church or Sunday school of the parents’ choice.
    Problem solved.

    • Facebook User: Facebook User the “problem” is that LW appeals to the nature in parents that says they “should be taking their kids to church” (grandmas voice, lol) but they don’t so LW gives them the opportunity to tell that inner voice that their kiddo will learn about Jesus but without the time commitment on the parents part and in MANY cases the parents who are sending their kids are none the wiser nor do they care about what the underlying message of LW is.

We can say “take your kid on your own time” all we want but it won’t fix the issue. Only educating the communities about the deep truths of LW and making America wake up will cause a change.

    • Facebook User: Facebook User the parents have make the choice to get their children some religious education and a little time away from the liberal teachers and freaks
    • Facebook User: Facebook User just who are you calling freaks? Little children? Sounds like you’re a real emotionally mature citizen.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User lazy parents who are absolute failures. Because if they really cared about religious instruction they’d be in private schools.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User I don’t get into arguments with someone whose identity is hidden behind a fictitious name. 😂
    • Facebook User: Facebook User LW doesn’t have any deep truths. They are a money making organization. They even specifically delegate which version of the Bible to use.
  • Facebook User: This is not right. If they want it after school, fine. Children need these other classes more than cult indoctrination.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User ah but here’s a parent’s reaction to missing these classes.
  • Facebook User: Keep Lifewise OUT of public schools!!
    • Facebook User: Facebook User Yes!!!!!
  • Facebook User: If the kids would rather go to life-wise who are you to tell them that they should rather go to music?
    • Facebook User: Facebook User music is an essential part of a child’s curriculum. It’s not just a break. Same for Art, P.E. Library, etc.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User well when you bribe them with antisemitism and candy, why wouldn’t they want to go?
  • Facebook User: But don’t dare to call thát grooming… 🤦‍♂️
  • Facebook User: This is the parent’s CHOICE!!! They are NOT and never will be forced to miss music if they don’t want to ( unless that is the parent’s choice)
    • Facebook User: Facebook User oh wait….
    • Facebook User: Facebook User lazy parents who don’t value education choose RTRI to cover their failure to prioritize religious instruction on their own time, taking it out on the school and other kids instead.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User oh wait…. again!
  • Facebook User: I am a Christian teacher who is concerned. Missing class is number one. If we let Christianity into schools, what else? Might seem far fetched, but I know people who are witchin (sp?). Should they be allowed to taken children out of public schools?
  • Facebook User: I absolutely do NOT support LifeWise in any way, shape, or form, but I do know this from having been employed as an Elementary School Title I Tutor in Ohio; students are not permitted to be pulled from PE, Music, or Art. but the 4th Special is Library and we could pull them from Library if there was simply no other time of day available. Either this Maggie Andrews is wrong or things have changed (I retired in May of 2022, so not very long ago).
    • Facebook User: Facebook User there’s proof Lifewise attendance makes kids with IEPs fail their mandated minutes.
  • Facebook User: Mythology is more important to them than the arts.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User this is correct and sad.
  • Facebook User: Religion poisons everything.
  • Facebook User: Oh no, another useless class that 99% of people won’t use in adulthood missed in favor of something with eternal value.

You lot will cry and scream about anything.

    • Facebook User: Facebook User Are you referring to Lifewise? Or are you referring to Art, Architecture, Music and Theater which have been around for millennium and have been used to glorify God since time began?
    • Zachary Parrish: Facebook User except unlike the imaginary white guy in the sky music actually saves lives…but sure, keep sucking sky daddy’s dick.
    • Facebook User: Facebook User religious indoctrination is absolutely useless.
